The Daydreamers Club: Basya Klein

Basya Klein. A16-year-old designer and artist who works in many mediums and has been for as long as she can remember includingpainting, drawing, and of course, fabric. Because of her experiences as a woman and a member of the LGBTQ community, she aims to support groups that are often put down and seen as less than humans. She aims, with her work, to make women feel more confident and powerful and create a dialogue about feminism, sexuality, and mental health. She believes art can have a very profound effect on people's lives, whether it provides a point of connectionwith the artist or allows for the viewer to understand an experience they may not have had. Basya is currently trying to gain recognition for her artwork in order to spread her message of strength and equality in a time of tumult and chaos. Back to the Basics: Making Pleats (+Video)

When I first started making videos and posting on my blog, It was mainly about how to sew and use different techniques. However, back then I wasn’t the best at sewing. It has been a few years and now I believe I’m a little better than I was before. So, I’m bringing all of that back for the summer in honor of me getting into my dream college: FIT.

In this post, I will be showing the easiest way I found to make pleats. Pleats are a very time-consuming technique, but they can be so beautiful if you do it correctly. Since they are one of my favorite things to do, here is a video to explain:
